The International Dart Federation (IDF) is proud to announce that the Egyptian Darts Federation (EDF) has joined the IDF as a provisional member. This milestone marks the first time an African country has become part of the global dart community under the IDF’s umbrella.
The EDF’s provisional membership was officially approved by the IDF Executive Board, with full membership status expected to be confirmed at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). This inclusion is a significant step in the IDF’s ongoing mission to expand the sport of darts across all continents, promote inclusive participation, and strengthen its presence on the global stage.
“We are thrilled to welcome Egypt into the International Dart Federation,” said Marco Tomasini, CEO of the IDF. “This is not only an historic moment for Africa’s representation in our sport, but also a testament to the dedication and growth of darts in Egypt. We look forward to working closely with EDF to foster the sport’s development throughout the African region.”
The Egyptian Darts Federation, led by Yehia Abdelkader, has demonstrated commitment to advancing darts nationally through grassroots initiatives, competitive events, and athlete training programs. By joining the IDF, Egyptian players and officials will benefit from international competitions, development programs, and collaborative projects with other member nations.
Full membership approval for EDF will be tabled during the next IDF Annual General Meeting, solidifying Egypt’s position as a pioneering force for darts in Africa.
