IDF and Arab Darts Federation Sign Historic Partnership Agreement

The International Dart Federation (IDF) and the Arab Darts Federation have formalized a landmark Memorandum of Understanding establishing a comprehensive partnership to promote and develop soft darts, e-darts, virtual darts, and para soft darts throughout the Arab region.

The agreement was signed in Cairo by Marco Tomasini, CEO and Secretary General of the IDF, and Dr. Yahya Abdelkader, President of the Arab Darts Federation, marking a significant milestone in expanding darts disciplines across Arab countries.

Under the terms of the MOU, the Arab Darts Federation has been recognized as an Associate Member and registered regional organization within the IDF structure, establishing the federation's authority to promote and develop soft darts disciplines throughout the Arab world. In turn, the Arab Darts Federation recognizes the IDF as the unique and only governing body for soft darts, para soft darts, virtual darts, and e-darts globally, including within the Arab region.

The Arab Darts Federation represents the leading organization for darts development across Arab countries, building upon the foundation laid by the Egyptian Darts Federation as the first formal darts federation in the Arab world.

The partnership aims to achieve several key objectives, including establishing the IDF as the governing body for soft darts and related disciplines in the Arab region, promoting cooperation in disseminating soft darts throughout Arab countries, fostering the development of infrastructure and programs, and supporting the establishment and growth of national soft darts federations within Arab countries.

Special focus will be placed on countries with existing steel darts activity seeking to develop soft darts programs, nations with emerging sporting infrastructure, youth and educational institutions, and para darts programs for athletes with disabilities. Winners of Arab regional championships will be eligible for IDF world rankings and qualification pathways to global competitions.
