World Darts Federation
WDF is the world governing body of darts and is a full member of AIMS (Alliance of Independent recognized Members of Sport).
AIMS is aligned, alongside ARISF, ASOIF and WOF, SportAccord. AIMS is recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and AIMS in Lausanne. By granting recognition to AIMS, the IOC acknowledges the role of AIMS and its valuable contribution to support the Olympic Movement in the achievement of its missions and goals; in the fields of the development of sport, promotion of sport in support of athletes.
WDF is a full signatory of WADA. The World Anti-Doping Code (Code) is the core document that harmonizes anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within sport organizations and among public authorities around the world. It works to maintain consistency among anti-doping organizations in various areas around the world.
The WDF organizes World and Continental Championships, Cups and ranking tournaments in Steel Darts in over 70 countries.
IDF is the official Partner and Associate Members of the WDF
The World Darts Federation (WDF) and The International Dart Federation (IDF) have signed an historical partnership agreement and on the 20th of September 2025 IDF has been officially recognized as WDF Associate Members.
Under this partnership, the IDF recognizes the WDF as the governing body for all the darts disciplines, including soft darts, e-darts and para versions of the above-mentioned disciplines.
Under this provision, the WDF is delegating the management of the Soft Darts, e-darts and para versions of these disciplines to the IDF, giving the mandate to the IDF to be the Governing Body for these disciplines.
​The IDF and WDF will align procedures for membership and governance. WDF Member organizations in countries where there is no existing IDF Member organization can be granted IDF membership upon completion IDF Membership application and acknowledgement from the WDF.
