IDF at the ICSSPE General Assembly

IDF has the pleasure to be present at the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education - ICSSPE General Assembly.

The International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (international abbreviations: ICSSPE - International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education; CIEPSS - Conseil International pour l'Education Physique et la Science du Sport) is an international umbrella organisation for sport, sport science, and physical education. The legal seat and the headquarters are both based in Berlin, Germany.

The mission of ICSSPE is to:

– Integrate research to enhance physical activity and sport;

– Educate for improved quality of life and health for all people through physical activity and sport;

– Promote policies for active lifestyles, human performance and good governance in physical activity and sport.

ICSSPE membership is composed of:

– Governmental sport, health and education authorities;

– Non-governmental sport organisations;

– Scientific and educational organisations and institutions.

In accordance with its 'Associate Status' with UNESCO, ICSSPE serves as a permanent advisory body to UNESCO and regularly conducts research and other projects on behalf of this United Nations agency.

ICSSPE is also a 'Recognised Organisation' of the International Olympic Committee, and a has a long tradition of co-operation with the world's leading sport body.

In addition, ICSSPE collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the area of physical activity and health promotion.

To support its world-wide commitment, the Council establishes contacts with business affiliates aiming to jointly contribute to a responsible and sustainable development of society.

A partnership with ICSSPE provides visibility and a close association with sport federations and institutions from around the world. It links partners from the corporate sector with an organisation that has been contributing to the sustainable development of our global society for decades, relying on both tradition and innovation and accounting for millions of people in its unique network.

ICSSPE promotes the missions of its partners and involves them in scientific and communication projects through the network. It cares about the best enterprising presentation of its partners in connection with the activities of the network.
